S'Gornit Delftn

Belgian (and other) Horses in Holland

We awoke to a dusting of snow on the ground.

After rearranging the contents of the van we drove through the tiny vacation town of Renesse. We made it out to the dunes and went for a walk along the beach of the North Sea, along with many others enjoying the sunny day. There, a number of people had brought their horses and dogs.

The tiny waves of the North Sea rolled up along the hard-packed sand of the beach.

Our official photo of the day (on the shore of the North Sea):

Retracing our steps

In Delft it seems that "The Girl With the Pearl Earring" has done much for the local economy; her portrait appears on any number of different ceramic objects.

Wandering the side streets and canals of the old town, we chanced upon a little synagogue built as a classical Greek temple. A concert had just ended there and we enjoyed its simple beauty for a few moments.

Today's "mileage" reading: 166693 KM (=103,578.23 miles).
