Now 30 million Kurds are under occupation by Turkey, Syria, Iraq and Iran. Who complains? ¥ From 1948 through 1967 Egypt occupied Gaza. Who complained? ¥ From 1948 through 1967 Jordan occupied - and unilaterally annexed all territories it controlled on the West Bank of the Jordan River. Jordan even prohibited Christians living in Israel from visiting their holy places. Who complained? ¥ Since 1975 35,000 Syrian troops have occupied Lebanon, trafficking in illegal drugs and transferring Iranian arms to anti-Israel terrorists? Who complains? ¥ On May 23, 1967, Damascus Radio told its listeners ÔArab masses, this is your day. Rush to the battlefieldÉ Let them know that we shall hang the last imperialist soldier with the entrails of the last Zionist.Õ The collected Arab statesÕ armies lost the 1967 war. They reconvened in Khartoum, Sudan to proclaim The Three ÔNo sÕ: ÒNo peace with Israel, no recognition of Israel, no negotiations with it.Ó Israeli occupation continuesÉ Everyone complains! The current Israeli occupation of the ÒWest BankÓ territories is bad for the Israelis as well as the Palestinians, and should end with the creation of a Palestinian state along with secure and recognized borders for Israel. However, given the history of occupations outlined here, why are the Arabs so selective in their complaints about occupation?
