ISRAEL TOUR December 25, 1996 - January 5, 1997

Temple Adat Shalom Congregational tour hosted by Rabbi Deborah R. Prinz and Rabbi Mark Hurvitz

Tuesday, December 31

Today's report is by Noam.

Today the group went to the Eilat Stone Mine. There was a multimedia movie and you wore glasses and the glasses made it look like it was 3D. After the movie the screen went up and we went into an elevator that took us into a imitation mine. After we went through the imitation mine there was a place where they cut the rocks that they mined and then we went into a show room that had different kind of jewelry and stones.

After the Eilat Stone mine we went to the underwater observatory. At the underwater observatory there were different types of fish, sharks and turtles and stingrays. There was one stingray that was yellow with blue spots. After we looked through all the tanks we went to the underwater part of the observatory and looked at all the fish. There was one fish that looked like it was a sword. It was really really skinny. We saw a blue submarine in the background and a scuba diver.

When we got back to the hotel we hung out at the hotel until 6;45 and then we ate at a Chinese restaurant and then went to Egypt (Taba) and went to hotel that had a new year's eve party.

We owe special thanks to Nisus Software Inc. of Solana Beach, CA for making a PowerBook 520 available and Qualcomm Inc. of San Diego, CA for making an Olympus D-300L digital camera available.

Special thanks also to Joe and Dave of Computergeeks for space on their server.

Many thanks also to Lila Abrams of Abrams Travel, Inc. (1-800-338-7075) and her tireless efforts to make this trip a success.
