While this is not their wedding picture,
Faye Avrunin and Nathan Hurvitz
got married shortly before this was taken on May 16, 1943.
The wedding took place during the counting of the Omer
(a period during which weddings are generally not scheduled)
because Nathan was a soldier in the United States Armed Forces during war time.
Therefore, an exception was made.
