The Third Cup
The Cup of Blessing

Together we take up our third cup of wine recalling the third promise of redemption.

The third promise states:

I will redeem you with an outstretched arm.

Hosts:

Together we thank our guests for having shared this holiday with us.

Guests:

Together we thank our hosts for having invited us to their observance.

One side of table:

Together we thank generations of our forebears who have brought us to this day.

Other side of table:

Together we thank the brave women and men of all the peoples of the world who have struggled and sacrificed to make this world a better place in which to live.

Together we dedicate this cup of wine to our ancestors who, from generation to generation escaped from slavery, struggled against oppression and tyranny, maintained a vision of hope and who have left us a legacy of liberty and freedom.

All drink the third cup of wine. Fill the fourth cup of wine.
